Ron Paul Announces 2012 Presidential Run!

Tue, 09/01/2009 - 10:22 — John Cunningham

OK, sorry, I jumped the gun. He hasn't announced yet. But let's consider what will happen when he does.

Scenario #1: Imagine if Rand Paul lost his race in 2010. The media quickly points out that Ron Paul is a joke. The voters have already rejected the Paul message. We're just a bunch of Internet spammers who make a lot of noise, maybe set a few online fundraising records, but can't even win a Senate race in a red state, forget a Presidential bid.

Scenario #2: Rand Paul won his race. The media is forced from the beginning to acknowledge that we are a significant force. We've shown that we can get someone with a name and philosophy like Ron Paul elected.

Scenario #3: Rand Paul wins by a wide margin. Suddenly Ron and Rand are leaders of the hottest new political craze. You can't pick up a newspaper or turn on a political or financial show without seeing them. Momentum is key in politics. Everybody wants to be part of something big and successful. We had a lot of supporters in 2008. Multiply that by 20!

Crawl, walk, run...

Wed, 08/26/2009 - 15:36 — John Cunningham

In 2008, we came together and learned a lot, but we didn't win any elections. :-(

Our goal for 2010 should be to use this powerful force we have created to win a few key races across the country, and Rand Paul's race in Kentucky should be at the top of our list.

Here are some reasons:
• Rand shares his father's philosophy.
• He's a great candidate — honest, sincere, consistent, and plainspoken.
• He's already getting national attention just by being his father's son.
• He has a great name!

It may not be an exaggeration to say that the future of the r3VOLution hangs on this one race. If we fail to send any more "Ron Pauls" to Congress in 2010, we become a minor footnote in the history books. However, if we succeed, imagine the power we wield going into 2012!

The Liberty Advantage

Fri, 08/21/2009 - 13:16 — John Cunningham

The pro-liberty forces have one advantage over the looters and moochers: location doesn't matter.

I would never vote for someone who promises to loot the taxpayer and spend the money on me. That would make me a thief. And since I'm not trying to "bring home the pork," I don't care where a candidate lives.

I live in Massachusetts, but my representative in Congress is from Texas. Of course, I'm referring to Ron Paul, the only member of Congress who truly represents me. I'm supporting Peter Schiff and Rand Paul because I'd like to have more members of Congress representing my interests. I would love to have Senators from Connecticut and Kentucky representing me in Congress!

Imagine it! The producers actually ganging up on the looters and moochers for a change!

Key races in 2010

Wed, 08/05/2009 - 11:26 — John Cunningham

2008 was a stunning year for liberty. No, we didn't take over Congress and the White House, but the pro-liberty forces did see a record-breaking explosion of interest and activity. We learned how to use the Internet to stay organized, and we invented the concept of a money bomb. If it were possible to build a time machine, if we could take all the knowledge we have today back four years and do it over again, I believe Ron Paul could have won the presidency.

2010 will be a another key year, as we apply this knowledge forward to a new election cycle. Two races in particular are drawing my interest.

First, Peter Schiff is considering a run for Senate from Connecticut. Peter is a a nationally known and respected financial adviser, and indeed was an economic adviser to the Ron Paul presidential campaign. Peter says he will run only if he gets significant financial support, so his fans are organizing a $1 million money bomb on August 7. The goal is to have 10,000 people donate an average of $100. So far almost 7,000 people have pledged, so the goal is certainly within reach.

Please pledge at http://www.schiffathon.com/ today, and donate at http://www.schiffforsenate.com/ on August 7!

The other race I'm watching is Rand Paul's Senate race in Kentucky. His followers are organizing a major money bomb on August 20. Maybe we can give him $1 million, too.

Personally, I feel lucky to have Ron Paul as my Representative in Congress. No, I don't mean to imply that I live in the 14th Congressional District of Texas, rather that Ron Paul is the one man in Congress who represents my values. So, while I can't vote for him at the ballot box, I do contribute to his campaigns. This year I have also contributed to Peter Schiff and Rand Paul. Will you join me?

Not a dime's worth of difference?

Tue, 10/13/2009 - 10:28 — John Cunningham

Not a dime's worth of difference? It depends on your perspective.

From where we stand, the D's and R's seem to agree on almost everything: fractional reserve banking, income tax, social security, America as the world's policeman, preemptive wars, war on drugs, etc.

However, for the average American who's bought into all of that, those things are removed from the discussion, so the R's and D's seem to disagree on almost everything: gay rights, gun control, socialized medicine, etc.

KentuckyFight!

Sat, 08/29/2009 - 23:54 — John Cunningham

On September 23rd, twenty three Republican U.S. Senators are holding a $500-per-plate fundraiser in Washington DC for Trey Grayson, Rand Paul's opponent. This deck-stacking favoritism in a highly contested GOP primary is unacceptable!

Join in the fight and help Rand Paul deliver a knockout punch to establishment candidate Trey Grayson with a pledge to donate $100 on the same date!

My Day Job

Fri, 08/21/2009 - 15:27 — John Cunningham

People often ask me what I do when I'm not running for Congress. I'm the owner of a small business that creates and maintains educational websites.

My most popular website is HamTestOnline, which teaches people what they need to know to pass a ham radio exam.

The younger people will now ask, "What's ham radio?" Remember that weird old guy down the block with all the antennas in his backyard, always talking on the radio to people in distant lands? That's ham radio.
