The forces of evil have us right where they want us — divided and irrelevant.
Imagine a wagon pulled by a team of horses, each horse pulling in a different direction. That's the pro-liberty forces today. Whe have three major factions: the libertarians, the Constitution Party, and the Ron Paul Republicans.
It's amazing how many people in this country share a common set of pro-liberty beliefs: stop policing the world, rollback the welfare state, end the Fed and return to sound money, abolish the income tax, repleal the Patriot Act...
Think what we could accomplish if we worked together!
I keep hearing that a r3VOLution is brewing, that there's going to be a major change in American politics. Reality check! The only way that's going to happen is if we all start working together!
I think our best hope is for the Libertarian and Constitution Parties to merge and form a new "Liberty Party". I'm not saying it would be easy. We would have to focus on our vast areas of agreement and allow disagreement on our somewhat smaller areas of contention.
The new party would have several advantage. For one thing, the merger of two of America's biggest third parties would be major news. Our combined forces would be too big to ignore.
The name "Liberty Party" is an obvious choice. It has immediate brand name recognition. The libertarians struggled for decades to explain what they stand for, and most Americans are still scared of the word. Meanwhile, we'd be adopting the name that is practically synonomous with America!
